Hitachi SimpleDrive 2TB, Rugged Drive, Simple and Stylish Drive

Hitachi GST (Hitachi Global Storage Technologies) has expanded its portable HDD family with three model, called SimpleDrive, Rugged Drive, and Simple & Stylish Drive. The new Hitachi portable drives will be shipped to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA Region).

The first novelty, Hitachi SimpleDrive portable hard drive is made on the basis of 3.5-inch hard drive, can hold up to 2TB of capacities. The Hitachi SimpleDrive portable HDD is manufactured in anodized aluminum, which provides efficient heat dissipation and it is characterized by low power consumption. It is placed vertically and has a minimal surface, which makes it convenient for small or home offices. Hitachi SimpleDrive portable drive is compatible with both PC and Mac computer. Hitachi SimpleDrive is available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB version.


Hitachi Rugged Drive is combines the durability and ease of use, it has a durable waterproof shell, shockproof external hard drive and it is made truly mobile. As noted by Hitachi, it can survive drops and blows more than any other external drive available on the market. The Hitachi Rugged Drive portable HDD can withstand loads up to 400G during the operation and up to 1000G during idle. Hitachi Rugged Drive portable hard drive is uses Hitachi TrueTrack, which provides highly accurate head positioning in terms of vibration and jolts. Hitachi Rugged Drive is available 320GB and 500GB.


Hitachi Simple & Stylish Drive is combines modern design with choice of several colors and decent reliability, plus simple ways to store and protect data. One of Hitachi Simple and Stylish Drive, it is “blue twilight” with capacity of 320GB, or a black carbon fiber enclosure in capacity of 500GB.

Hitachi GST also announced the internal hard drives with mounting kit, Hitachi Internal Hard Drive Kit for self-assembling computers. The Hitachi Internal Hard Drive Kit includes instructions for installing, SATA cable and mounting screws. Its spindle speed drives is 5400rpm and 7200rpm, and the amount of cache memory is 32MB.
